Robert Rodriguez also making Machete film

So says Variety. Based on one of the fake trailers during the Grindhouse film, Machete had Danny Trejo killing people and kissing naked chicks, so hopefully the film follows that winning formula. Rodriquez wrote the script and is codirecting with Ethan Maniquis. No word on how Rose McGowan will be shoehorned in.

Robert Rodriguez Officially Rebooting Predator

The official word is in on the story mentioned before about Robert Rodriguez rebooting Predator.
AICN has a quick interview where Rodriguez explains that he got the job thanks to a script treatment called Predators that he wrote years ago.
So it’s happening. Just wait until Aliens is rebooted, and then the rebooted franchises have their own crossover, then the reboots fight the originals, and also there is a T-Rex for some reason. No word on how Rose McGowan will be shoehorned in.

Wingnut Web – ACLUsers Edition

So the ACLU has been trying to get more photos released of what they are calling widespread prisoner abuse, and it was just announced the Department of Defense is no longer going to challenge the FOIA request from 2004. Thus, “a substantial number” of photographs showing abuse of prisoners at prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan,

This announcement triggers a rightwing freakout! The ACLU is the ACORN before ACORN in acronym groups beginning with the letter A that the Right hates for irrational reasons. And hate they still do….

thefoxnation.com gets us off to the classy start:

All responses will be from the esteemed posters of thefoxnation.com, the nation that is fair and balanced.

Why didn’t the ACLU issue lawsuits to stop the dead body dragging?

New Review – Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning

The new review is up on the main site, Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, the Finnish fan film where Captain Pirk and his fleet of ships attacks Babel 13 and Commander Sherrypie. Okay, it’s a free fan film with lots of awesomely spectacular space battle sequences, a coherent plot, acting that isn’t horrible, and is actually very funny and entertaining. Read it today!

Trailer for Onechanbara: vorteX at NipponCinema

NipponCinema continues to be on top of everything coming out of Japan, complete with their update over a trailer for Onechanbara: vorteX that has shown up on CDJapan. And I still haven’t watched my copy of the first one!

In this incarnation 24-year-old gravure idol Yuu Tejima takes over the role of Aya (played by Eri Otoguro in the first movie) as she once again teams up with her stepsister Saki (Akari Ozawa) and the leather-clad Reiko (Rika Kawamura) to take on a new enemy named Himiko who’s in control of a zombie army.

Watch the trailer here!

Neko Ramen Taisho

Minoru Kawasaki has another crazy film with Neko Ramen Taisho, based on the manga serial Neko Ramen by Kenji Sonishi. The director of Monster X Strikes Back: Attack the G8 Summit and Executive Koala now brings us a film about a cat who operates a Ramen noodle stand. The cat is played by a puppet, but don’t worry, there will be real cats in the film, including famous feline Tama (the cat who runs a train station) Also, it looks like the English title of this might be Pussy Soup, which I think is stupid.

Plot listing

“Taishô’s father is a supermodel cat, and everybody believes that Taishô will be a supermodel as well. His family has great expectations of him, because he is the eldest son, but he can’t bear all the pressure and runs away from home. Unfortunately, he has no clue how to survive on his own, having always been fed and pampered as a model cat. Taishô passes from one job to another, homeless, until he finds his place in a noodle shop, where he becomes a successful cook.”

The film was released in theaters in Japan on Novermber 29th of 2008, and has made a few film festivals. It comes out on DVD on May 29th in Japan!

Wolverine leaked workprint was the final film with unfinished effects!

Oh, snap! Fox turned out to be a big bunch of liars (no surprise) and their claim that the leaked workprint of Wolverine was missing 15 minutes of footage is being shot down by those who have seen the preview screenings! Well, let’s see how this affects the box office take! Another fun twist is the same movie websites that were pretending to be morally superior in not posting Wolverine workprint reviews (in reality just towing the company line in order to get more exclusives from 20th Century Fox) are now talking like they saw said workprint. For me, not caring pays off, because I have neither 20th Century Fox’s lawyers looking at me nor do I look like a complete hypocrite. Laziness wins again!
