Scary Market – 嘿店

Scary Market – 嘿店 – is an upcoming (October 21st) mainland horror-comedy starring Athena Chu Yun as a zombie killer. The film co-stars Cheung Tat-Ming, Li Fei-er, Yu Ting-Ting, and Liao Jian. I’ve added a bunch of huge stills from Sina, because we need more posts packed with tons of giant images. TarsTarkas.NET demands it. Our fans demand it. That Moon Guy from the old McDonald’s commercials demands it. Everyone demands it. So who am I to disappoint everyone?

Thai Pulp covers – Insee Daeng and more

Here are a bunch of Thai pulp covers from various sources collected while looking for Insee Daeng information. Not sure if it they were comics or books or a mix of both. Some of them, especially the last two, are written stories. There is also a bonus Captain America cover, because, why the hell not? You can see elements from some of these stories that made it into Insee Thong.

Dark Heroine Muk Lan-fa Pulp Covers

Here are some images of Dark Heroine Muk Lan-fa pulp novel covers I ganked from this Yahoo Blog. I thought I’d bring it to an English-speaking audience, the small core of us who are interested in films and books like this. besides the three original Dark Heroine Muk Lan-fa films (good overview on Lucha Diaries), there was also a long series of pulp novels, the exact number I am not certain of. The novels look to be reprinted at some point with less spectacular covers, and you can order them on your Chinese eReaders if you read Chinese and want to Google that info yourself. The rest of us will have to just look at these cool bookcovers. Besides the film series and books, there was also a tv series in the late 80s or early 90s, IIRC. The Dark Heroine Muk Laf-fa also inspired The Heroic Trio films.

Enjoy the novel covers! My favorite one is the clown shooting a clown out of a cannon.
