I especially love the photoshop failure rice cooker! Maybe space aliens are stealing food…

Real life hero Bauhinia Heroine gets a film – with Chrissie Chau!

Bauhinia Heroine is a real life super hero who dresses in costume and gives money to the poor, highlighting the growing wealth gap in China. The actual identity of Bauhinia woman is unknown, but her methods have attracted the attention of 3D Sex and Zen filmmmaker Stephen Shiu Jr, who will be making a film about her with Chrissie Chau playing the superheroine. No decision has been reached on if it will be in 3D, but it will be an action film and there will be other masked characters.

As reported by WantChinaTimes, Bauhinia Woman first appeared in mid-May, giving HK$100(US$12.86) and food to 10 poor families. She has continued her efforts as her popularity exploded on the internet, because this is the kind of stuff the internet loves. Bauhinia Woman admits to being inspired by Kick-Ass (finally something good about that movie) and the classic heroine character Black Rose (see our in-depth reviews of the Black Rose films here and here), which is why she named herself after the flower that represents Hong Kong (bauhinia, for those of you unaware of what I am talking about)

Beach Spike trailer

The trailer for Beach Spike is up. Filled to the brim with scantily clad babes playing volleyball. The story is the standard save something from the evil developers by winning a sports tournament story. Starring Chrissie Chau, Jessica C, Phoenix Chou, Teresa Fu, and Tony Tang. The guy named Monk Law in the trailed is also known as Lo Meng, Law Mong, and Turbo Law. Monk Law sounds more like a series about a crime fighting monk cop than an actor.

Beach Spike wraps filming

Beach Spike is an upcoming film we’ve had our eye on because it promises a bunch of eye candy and possibly some volleyball kung fu. But mostly because of the eye candy. And filming just wrapped, thus giving us a reason to post all these photos…

This is one of Bey Logan’s films, directed by Tony Tang and starring Chrissie Chau, Teresa Fu, Jessica C., and Phoenix Chou.

Jiang Luxia and Chrissie Chau to bust vampires!

Twitch got news that Jiang Luxia and Chrissie Chau will be teaming up to fight vampire, kung fu style. As Vampire cops! And no title was given for this film, making my Google Alerts Fu very sad.

Dennis Law sez:
“It’s about kung-fu vampire killers. I want to combine the basic elements of BAD BLOOD and WOMB GHOSTS – ghosts and kung fu together in a kind of Chinese underworld movie, set in the present day. The heroes are a team of vampire police – police operating in the vampire world. Chrissie will be one of them, together with Jiang Lu Xia (from BAD BLOOD). I want to combine martial arts actors from the mainland with Chrissie and some pretty young models from Hong Kong to make an exciting vampire kung fu movie for young people. I’ve also got Chin Siu Ho, from Mr. VAMPIRE. He’s in his late 40s, now but can still fight! Also Yuen Wah will star as the big evil vampire. In the supporting cast I’ll also have Maggie Siu and Pinky Cheung. We’ve got the script and production will start in early June, so probably we’ll be releasing it early next year.”

Uh…I saw Bad Blood this past weekend, and it had some good and a lot of bad (review coming soon) but Jiang Luxia was great in it despite the fact they made her mute. Maybe she’ll get to talk in this one and not be all somber like in Coweb. A little personality is all I ask. Since we dumped the Chrissie Chau glam shots in the news article for Beach Spike, we’ll have to dig up some different pictures to close out this article… And good luck getting good shots of Jiang Luxia doing anything. When TarsTarkas.NET shows up on the first page of Google Image Search it is time to redefine your search terms.

Beach Spike

Beach Spike has been announced as the next film from Bey Logan’s production company B&E Productions. What is Beach Spike? It is a beach volleyball themed action comedy! Someone figured out what DOA was supposed to be! Here is the press release:

B&E’s next live-action project has the working title ‘Beach Spike!’, and combines ‘Shaolin Soccer’-style sports action with kung fu fighting, as bikini-wearing Asian babes compete in beach volleyball. This summer action comedy stars current Hong Kong ‘it’ girl Chrissie Chau with ‘Blood Bond’ lead Phoenix Chou cast as her rival.

B&E Productions is also finishing up post production on The Blood Bond, and has also announced:
a reversed ‘Rush Hour’ script, ‘Harlem Goes East’, about a black American cop on an adventure in China; ‘Lady Transporter’(working title), a starring vehicle for Phoenix Chou, with the actress playing a female armed escort working the Russian/Mongolian border; ‘Choy Li Fut’, a period actioner about the founder of this southern Chinese kung fu style, to be co-produced with and co-starring Gordon Liu (’36th Chamber of Shaolin’, ‘Kill Bill’).

I’ll just fill the rest of this post with pictures of Chrissie Chau dressed up for cosplay promoting the online game Dragon Online that I ganked from the Rusty Pork blog run by the HKMDB guy…
